First documented in late 2012, The Databats are a computer contaminant, sound source and image generator of unknown origin frequently referred to as "a band". Most commonly observed by Toronto-based artists Rasiqra/Revulva (vocals, synths) and Wrrrtika (synths, vocals), The Databats often manifest as glitch-laden industrial, trip-hop, and drone music responding to humanity's interaction with its physical and digital environments. Experts are still unsure as to the exact purpose of this viral phenomena, but predict a surge of activity in 2017.
